Beginning Sept 17th, two gatherings resume at 9:15am & 11am

True Transformation

"For we died and were buried with Christ in our baptism.  And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we may also live new lives." - Romans 6:4

We believe that God’s love transforms us and through His love we become like Him. The path we walk after encountering Christ looks completely different from the one we walked before. God calls us into a counter-cultural life, one filled with generosity, love, and sacrifice. God’s agenda for our lives looks completely different from our own. We believe in living out the life that God has called us into, both individually, and as a community.

Real Relationships

We were made to be in community. Each of us has strengths and weaknesses, different talents and different resources that we bring into the community. When we live in relationship with God and with others we live as God created us, and we get a taste of the Kingdom of God right here and right now.

"For where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am with them." - Matthew 18:20

Family Focused

When children grow up in a healthy environment they are more likely to become healthy productive adults. We believe that teaching our kids and teens how to follow Christ at a young age will benefit them later in life. They are being shaped and molded by our culture, and it’s important they know the joy and hope of Christ at a young age to help shape their worldview.  We believe that our men and women should lead their household in the ways of Christ, and they should make family a priority.

"At that late hour of the night the jailer washed their wounds, then immediately he and his whole family were baptized.  The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them--he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God--he and his whole family."  - Acts 16:33-34

Outward Oriented

“Jesus said, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field.’" - Matthew 9:37-38

We long to show people, in a tangible way, the love of God. We believe we can change our community, and even the world through serving and giving efforts. Whether it be through our food pantry, or our lawn raking events, we want people to know that we love them. More importantly we want them to know that their Heavenly Father loves them, and He sent us to fill a need for them.

Generously Giving

All of our ministry runs from the tithes and offerings given by this body. Generous giving is a part of who we are, it is in our DNA. The Portland Campus building we currently meet in was built on the strength of people who have sacrificed so that the community of Portland would have a place to worship God, grow into a fully devoted relationship with Him, and be an HQ for serving His children through local missions. We continue this tradition by offering what we have to those who have less than us.

“You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity...” - 2 Corinthians 9:11

Meaningfully Multiplying

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”- 2 Timothy 2:2

We seek to always be growing, in more ways than one. Not only do we want to grow the body of Christ in Portland, MI, but we also want to multiply our efforts in other communities as well. We have already spread the story of God through the community of Pathway in St. Johns and The Well in Ionia.  We are continually using our resources to reach out to the communities that surround us.
We are committed to equipping fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ to help others on their journey become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We are growing up leaders from within our body to lead people to Christ in this community and other communities in our surrounding area. It’s multiplication!
